Welcome to Coppice Valley Primary School...

Coppice Valley is a unique school - a peaceful oasis of nature, quiet and calm, safely tucked away from the main roads. We are Harrogate's hidden gem, having a large playing field, wildlife area and meadow. 

At Coppice Valley, we are known as the school with heart. Our staff work hard to make sure everyone feels cared for, safe and valued. We treat every child as the remarkable individual they are. 

Our vision is to create learners for life - children who are enthused with a love for learning. This all begins in the haven of nature we have on our doorstep, here at Coppice Valley.

Friday Update - 06.06.2025

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome the Project Manager from Northern Powergrid to school this week, along with contractor representatives. They spent time with myself and Mrs Fineran understanding our vision for outdoor learning and how we’re using nature to enhance the curriculum. We’re incredibly grateful to Northern Powergrid for their generous biodiversity grant of £50,000 to help develop our outdoor areas. This will make a transformational difference to the experiences we can offer our children – watch this space for updates on the project!

Friday Update - 23.05.2025

As we draw this half term to a close, we have had another brilliant week at Coppice Valley! We were delighted to welcome several of our Trustees to school this week. They met with five of our fantastic Year 6 pupils, who spoke with pride and confidence about life at Coppice. The Trustees also toured the school 🏫 and were incredibly impressed by what they saw - engaged learners, purposeful classrooms, and a vibrant school environment. Their feedback was full of praise for our staff, pupils, and the sense of community we’ve built together.

The Community Garden

We love working with our local community, here at Coppice Valley. We welcomed the help and advice of Horticap in helping us to make this amazing community garden. Our local community is welcome to use the growing beds and take food from it, after school hours, at weekends and in the holidays.

Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Coppice Valley, we recognise that good mental health is as important as good physical health. Our pupils are taught self-care techniques, including recognising and managing emotions, exercise, relaxation and how to build relationships through a rich and varied curriculum.

Before and After School Care

Our Before and After School (BAS) care is run by our own Coppice Valley teaching assistants and staff, just for pupils at Coppice Valley School. Having our own staff run our wrap-around care means we can ensure the highest standards and that it functions to the same ethos and values as our school.
